DREAM
Some days I just want to stay in bed
And pull the covers up over my head
Listen to the rain on the old tin roof
And close my eyes and appear aloof
To drift away and start to dream
Of all the places I have seen
Like the vastness of the African plains
And travelling on some European trains
Austrian mountains covered in snow
Spanish trams that go very slow
The beauty of the Italian coast
The country I have liked the most
But reality rears its ugly head
The alarm clock ringing beside my bed
My time to dream again no more
As my feet are landing on the floor
I have a shower at a real fast pace
Slap some make-up all over my face
Choose some clothes and dress real quick
An apple for breakfast will do the trick
Another day is about to begin
The endless traffic and continuous din
I grab my bag and I’m out the door
A busy day I have in store
Some days I just want to stay in bed
And pull the covers up over my head
Listen to the rain on the old tin roof
But today is not the day ….. ugh!
